Britannic graves (Pireaus,Greece)

This sign indicates the presence of the Commonwealth graves inside the large Greek civilian cemetery.

A closer look.The area is kept very clean and the headstones are in very good condition.

Private A.Binks' headstone.Notice the emblem of the Royal Army Medical Corps(RAMC).He died onboard the HMS HEROIC during the transport to Pireaus

Fireman J.Brown's headstone.He died onboard the Frech tug GOLIATH after being pulled unconscious out of the water.

Lookout G. Honeycott's headstone.He arrived at Pireaus alive but he died at the Russian Hospital some days later.

Trimmer C.Phillips' headstone.He died onboard the HMS HEROIC during the transport to Pireaus
