The bay of Moudros

The bay of Moudros is located at Lemnos, a Greek island just opposite of the Gallipoli peninsula, which belongs to Turkey. Its proximity to this peninsula made it an ideal base for the Allied fleet during the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign in 1915-1916 and the final destination of the large hospital ships (like the Britannic and the Aquitania).
